Urban Decay: Abandoned Gulliver’s Travels Themepark in Japan
Only open for a few years before closing down in 2001, the ruins remained untouched by most human hands - save a few industrious graffiti artists - for several more years before eventually succumbing to the bulldozer of change. But it also shared an interesting neighborhood: such as the nearby landmark of Kamikuishiki village(the former location of the Aum Shinrikyo doomsday cult’s sarin gas manufacturing facilities) and the “Sea of Trees,” a rural forest that also happens to be one of Japan’s premier suicide destinations. Checks out more photos over at weburbanist.

Haunting and beautiful video of the abandoned Six Flags New Orleans.

Abandoned Six Flags New Orleans Tour (via aroundlsu)

Sometimes a vacation goes wrong. Okay, invariably something goes wrong on ALL vacations. Kids get cranky, Dad slips and falls, Uncle Lou gets his sandwich stolen by the Blood God Gulls. It happens. So, for your schadenfreude pleasure, I've collected them here to let you know you're not alone.... Of course, there is a dash of awesomeness as well so we don't all cry in despair of ever having a fabulous holiday again.
